We arrived in Perth 14 Aug 2007 for two weeks of research and fun too! We flew with Emirates and although were delayed half an hour coming out the flight overall was excellent-friendly crew, loads of toys for kids. The flight consisted of a 9 hour then a 10 hour sector so was broken up evenly.
The plan was to do research into schools for the girls (aged6 and3),houses,jobs,and to try and narrow down the list of suburbs where we wanted to live.
Our base was a hotel in Burswood, we hired a car and went out and about every day-sometimes getting lost but this wasn't such a bad thing as we got to see areas that wouldn't have necessary have seen if we had stuck to the map.
We headed up the Mitchell Freeway to the northern suburbs and checked out areas as far as Joondalup, looked at schools in Connoly and Currambine-both lovely.
Also had to see Perth Zoo,Aquarium at Hillarys,Fremantle, wildlife parks all lovely nd value for money.
The trip has been invaluable and secured our thoughts that we are doing the right thing moving to this wonderful country.

As far as Joondalup eh? Wow, you spent all that money to fly to Australia, and then drove halfway back to England while you were here lol.

Actually, maybe its proximity to England is why Joondalup is so bloody pommy :)
